Feeding Intensives

Who's It For?

The Everyday Progress Feeding Intensive program is for parents who have tried traditional feeding therapy and have not seen results in their own home, where it matters most.

Providing occupational therapy in your home environment allows the therapist to incorporate the dynamics of your family and home, and help to design and implement measurable changes around mealtime.

What to Expect?

  • An initial virtual discussion to determine what is the best support for your family.

  • Caregivers will complete intake paperwork and complete a food log.

What's Covered?

Education topics are individualized, but could include some of the following (non-exhaustive list):

  • Seating and positioning

  • Supportive interactions and communication

  • Cup/straw drinking and utensil use

  • Movement activities to help prep child for meal time

  • Sensory responses to food

  • Menu planning around preferences while increasing exposure to new foods

  • Parent support

Why Does it Work?

  • Individualized program

  • Parent-led interactions with OT coaching

  • Child is learning directly from parent vs. from therapist, allowing for future learning to be more easily accepted

  • Change happens quicker than traditional weekly sessions

  • Strengthens child/parent relationship overall

Our Difference

As a specialist who is passionate about feeding therapy, I want your family to enjoy mealtime again. Through education and coaching on how to best interact with your child at both a cognitive and emotional level to support your child's autonomy, we can create fundamental change in your relationship and your mealtime experience.

Meaningful change happens with a team approach of the therapist, caregiver, and child.

My feeding intensives are different from traditional feeding therapy because you as the caregiver will be interacting with your child with the support of a therapist.  You'll have the strategies and resources to create meaningful change in your home through this investment, and will bring peace back to mealtime.
